Arrive or Reach?

You say that you ‘arrive at’ or ‘reach’ a place.

I should arrive at the airport in about an hour.
I should reach the airport in about an hour.

But for countries and cities you say ‘arrive in’

I arrived in Singapore yesterday.

You can say ‘I arrived yesterday’, but you can’t say ‘I reached yesterday’.
